The Crescent City Fuchsia and Epiphyllum Society
2021 Calendar of Events
Monthly workshops and potluck dinners will be held on the third Wednesday of each month,
and will be held at the Del Norte Co. Fairgrounds, dinning room.
Members are asked to bring a dish of their choice, to contribute to the pot luck, and their own utensils, plates, and napkins. Coffee and water are available. Each month the workshop will focus on care for your fuchsias and epiphyllums.

Our first meeting of the year will be held:
March- 17th, at 6:00pm. The club will provide Roasted Chicken and pizza for the main meal course, although it is okay to bring a homemade item we are currently encouraging everyone to bring a store purchased potluck dish, such as dessert or salads. After the potluck dinner, there will be a vote for new board members and officers for
2021-2022, as well as a workshop. Mark Danner and Mary Ann Buckles will be sharing how to prune and create a topiary.
April 21st- 6:00pm- Potluck dinner, and a workshop about taking photos of your fuchsias and entering them
in the annual AFS Photo Contest. The speaker will be Jack Dean.
30th- 11:00am- Set up for the Spring Sale at the Fairgrounds
May 1st- 9:00am-4:00pm- The Fuchsia Society Annual Spring Sale!
At the Del Norte County Fair Grounds.
All members,( who are update on their dues), who would like to sell gardening type products,
are welcome to participate.
The split is 70 percent to vendors, and 30 percent of sales to club. Any members wishing to
have a table to sell gardening type products, please let us know by the April meeting.
We will have a special offer of $12.00 hanging baskets which includes: 3, 2 inch fuchsia plants,
soil, hanging container, and will be planted by members.
3rd- 11:00am- Board Meeting at the home of Mark and Delfie Danner.
15th-11:00am- Clean up Day at the fairgrounds. Bring gloves and tools for pruning and cleanup.
19th- 6:00pm- Potluck dinner. Report on Spring sale and distribution of proceeds. Video about fertilizing
June 7th-11:00am- Board Meeting at the home of Mark and Delfie Danner.
16th- 6:00pm- Potluck dinner, and a workshop about controlling pests in the garden. Bring a troubled plant.
July 5th-11:00am- Board Meeting at the home of Mark and Delfie Danner.
21st- 6:00pm- Potluck dinner, and a workshop on how to prepare your fuchsias to be shown at the fair.
August 1st- 11:00am- Set up day at the the fairgrounds.
2nd-11:00am- Board Meeting at the home of Mark and Delfie Danner.
4th- 11:00am-6:00pm- Bring Show Fuchsias to fairgrounds. Both members and non members are invited to enter fuchsias.
5th- 9:00am -12:00 noon- "
Note: Fuchsias will be judged by the public this year.
There are 11 categories and each category will have a first, second and third place winner.
The plant with the highest number of votes, over all, will be awarded "Best of Show."
5th through 8th- Fuchsia Show and Sale at the Del Norte County Fair. Volunteers needed.
18th - 6:00pm- Potluck dinner. Fair awards, feedback, and sales results will be announced.
The Garden Tour will be discussed and maps distributed.
21st- 10:00am- Crescent City Fuchsia and Epiphyllum Club Garden Tour- Meet at the Fairgrounds to begin tour.
September 6th-11:00am- Board Meeting at the home of Mark and Delfie Danner.
15th - 6:00pm- Potluck dinner. Don Helsel will present a workshop about hybridizing and seed collection.
October 4th-11:00am- Board Meeting at the home of Mark and Delfie Danner.
20th- 6:00pm- Potluck dinner, and a workshop about preparing your plants for their winter sleep.
November 1st-11:00am- Board Meeting at the home of Mark and Delfie Danner.
17th- 6:00pm- Thanksgiving potluck dinner. Turkey, ham and potatoes will be furnished.
Please bring a side dish or desert to share.
December 6th- 11:00am- Board Meeting at the home of Mark and Delfie Danner.
15th- 6:00pm- Holiday Celebration dinner. Turkey, ham and potatoes will be furnished.
Please bring a side dish or desert to share. There will be a Christmas gift exchange
for those who would like to participate. (limit of $10.-15. per gift)
